Quick thoughts on Jay-Z’s “Kingdom Come”

Jay-Z - Kingdom Come
After a couple of weeks of listening (and getting over the fact that Kingdom Come just isn’t The Black Album), turns out there are a couple pretty good songs, including “Kingdom Come,” “Oh My God,” “Lost Ones,” and somewhat surprisingly, the Chris Martin produced “Beach Chair.” This is mostly because of really good production, not particularly good lyrics. In fact, “Beach Chair” offers what might be my least favorite rap lines ever:

“I don’t surf the net / No I never been on myspace / Too busy letting my voice vibrate / Carving out my space”

Good God that’s bad. Rhyming “myspace” with “my space.” Oh, Jay-Z, why have you forsaken us?
