123 Party on BU Tonight

Might as well let everyone know what’s been happening in the World of Jeff recently.

I finished up my junior year at BU pretty strong, completing a Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip spec script just in time for the show to be officially canceled. Oh well.

We wrapped on Season 5 of BU Tonight, all of which can be seen here. Guests included the hilarious comedians Greg Fitzsimmons and Greg Behrendt, punk rock superstar Sweeney, Boston indie media darlings 123 Party!, and with his second appearance on the show, the always entertaining Boston Globe film critic Ty Burr. You can also check out the Best of BU Tonight, an hour-long compilation of some of our greatest stuff from the past five years. We also got a killer writeup in the Boston Globe, which my pretty mug happened to adorn.

I’m staying in Boston this summer. I’m working at BU’s Office of New Media as an Assistant Web Developer three days a week, and it’s been great so far, a very fun environment. The other two days of the work week I’m interning at Soup2Nuts, the animation production company behind one of my favorite shows of all time, Home Movies.

I hope to get a couple website projects together this summer, as well as a spec script or two.

As always, stay tuned to the old bloggeroonie, as well as my tumblelog, which collects the best of the random crap I waste my life reading online.

A sad day for my minifeed

What cropped up on my Facebook minifeed the other day?

MiniFeed

Oh no, I’ve been tagged in the BU Look Alikes club. And who with?

Me and Rainn

Rainn Wilson. And I had been hoping for George Clooney. My only solace is that it’s clearly as bad of a photo for Rainn as for myself.  “Credit” for this monstrosity goes to Jordan Newman.  I personally prefer my addition to the group, my roommate Saurabh with Star Trek’s Nichelle “Lieutenant Uhura” Nichols:

Good buddy Rob Turbovsky has entered the blogosphere, and is posting some great stuff - including the Director’s Cut of his interview with Chuck Klosterman. I like to think that if I had listened to more classic rock starting around junior high, I could have continued with my rock journalist aspirations and ended up more like Turbo. Oh well.

The kid’s a prince, too - he calls me the David Bowie to his Mick Ronson. High flattery, there.

And a quick rundown of everyone else I’m linking these days:

Check all of these guys out, they really do put me to shame.  Is that enough e-self-loathing for you?
